The Turkish Straits |
The Importance of straits
Straits are waterways that connect to certain areas around the globe. Not only do they provide transportation, along with importing and exporting goods, but it also increases the economy of the country it is taken over by. Straits also have many benefits and are extremely helpful during wars. In wars, straits provided exits and entrances to those occupying that region, making it easier to fight against opposing forces. Whoever took over the straits, controlled who or what entered through, along with making it easier to guard their territory having a wide field of vision. The turkish straits have provided just that.
